Real joy is not of this world. It does not come from circumstances, moods, times of day, or whatever is swirling around us in our homes, our nation, or our world. It is a gladness in knowing the Lord, abiding in Him, and allowing the Holy Spirit to be the source of our lasting happiness. 🔆
Some days I’m not feeling it. I’m down, in my feels, & joy seems completely out of reach. But, no matter what, I see it elsewhere - in my children, in the birds, in my relationships. And I’m almost always filled with gratitude throughout my not so great days leading me to be kind anyway / to love anyway - to laugh anyway. To me …that’s Jesus. That’s real joy. It’s not always evident from the outside but it’s always in our heart.
Let us allow Him into every aspect of our being by welcoming His never ending joy. May it be in our decisions, actions, and behaviors - forever guiding us to be kind, grateful, and full of laughter. By communicating with Him daily, He will become the foundation of our life and of our JOY because as we know, nothing happens without him.
Lord, we pray to experience real, true Joy, like a fountain springing forth from who You are! ✨
