The Pietà captures the sorrowful moment of Mary holding the lifeless body of Jesus after His crucifixion.
This was one of the first abstract styled liturgical pieces I painted. As you can see, the figures of Mary and Jesus aren't perfectly formed, which allows for a more universal interpretation, focusing not only on the historical moment but also on the deep spiritual connection shared between mother and son, as well as the enduring hope that comes from Christ’s sacrifice.
Ideal for reflection, prayer, or as a gift for those seeking to meditate on the Passion of Christ, The Pietà serves as a powerful reminder of the profound depths of God’s love for humanity. It invites us to draw near to the sorrow of the Cross and to find strength in Mary’s example of grace and faith through suffering. Whether displayed in a home, church, or prayer space, this piece serves as a reminder of the transformative power of Christ’s sacrifice and the comfort of His mother’s embrace.
