The Trinity, one God in three persons, gives us the perfect example of living in holy and healthy relationships. Their need for and love of one another creates an ever-giving, essential relationship. And, God made us in His image and likeness, to share in His very life and love.
Since we are made in the image of a God whose existence is community and whose nature is relationship, God did not design us to do life alone. It is necessary that we pray for and are open to having spiritual community in our lives. Friends, mentors, spiritual directors, and prayer groups are important elements of the Christian life as they mirror that same relationship of the Trinity. Living and being and knowing God together with others is a principal element of our holiness.
Lord, provide community for us. Bring us people who are like-minded, prayerful, joyful, and have the kind of hope that comes only from You. Soften our hearts to be receptive; allow our eyes to notice those You have sent us. Help us to know You through each Person in the Trinity.
