When I painted this piece, I thought about the boys and men in my life, and especially the kind of man I pray my son will become someday. A man who loves Jesus so deeply that the people around him know it without question. A friend who points back to Christ. A man who stands firm, leads with humility, and follows Jesus closely enough that others might find Him by watching the way he lives.
With soft blues, seafoam greens, shimmering gold, and expressive layers of texture, this piece captures the beauty of the sea and the quiet invitation to follow Jesus. A wooden boat, fishing nets, fish, and the words “Follow Me” and “Fishers of Men” are woven throughout the artwork.
And even the wave carries meaning. Crashing over everything, it represents the overwhelming love of Christ that meets us when we surrender our lives and decide to follow Him.
